Batu Caves--Selangor

Batu Caves are a wonder in themselves. They are a number of limestone hills which has form the caves. The constant falling of water has shaped the caves within the hills. The interior of the caves are naturally white, light green and semi-orange in colour. The main cave which a very huge one consists of three temples of Murugan (Kartikeya). Another temple inside seemed to be closed for repairs.
I took a train from Bank Nigara Station at Kuala Lumpur and Batu Caves was the ultimate destination.

This is just outside the station. I have snapped the picture from the side of the Batu Caves.

This is the 140 ft statue of Lord Murugan--the tallest statue of the god in the whole world.

Some Amazing Quotations and their Relevance.

Quote 1: It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

--My Institute is an example of unity in diversity not just in terms of different cultural backgrounds of the teachers and students, but here every innovative thought is appreciated and nurtured. Difference is accepted. Hence, there is a steady growth in the intellectual fervour of the student community in this Institute.

Quote 2: It is possible to store the mind with a million facts and still be entirely uneducated.

--Students are given the opportunity to turn information into knowledge through hands-on experiences in the form of tech fest projects, internships, presenting papers in various national and international seminars and conferences.
The Humanities’ PowerPoint Presentation project brings forth the ability of the students to work in groups, prepare innovative presentation of their choice, take group decisions, build confidence, develop their English speaking skills and their personalities.

Quote 3: Education is a method whereby one acquires a higher grade of prejudices.

--These are the words of the learned U.S. educator and writer Laurence J. Peter where he satirizes the basic concept of education. In my Institute the students are rather encouraged to question whatever they are taught from books or otherwise and not accept anything passively. They are motivated to analyse the information and only then acquire it as knowledge and implement it. This assists in the overall development of the student.

Hello!
Mother's Day!

Every day is mother's Day! The woman who took the pains to bring us into this world, sacrificed herself in the altar of motherhood without even thinking twice. She doesn't expect anything in return. Her greatest joy is in seeing her children happy. The little we can do for her is to appreciate her for what she has done for us on a daily basis and not on one particular date in the calendar. Wishing all the mothers of the world a fulfilling lifetime!
Everything in life is transient, yet we make so much fuss over everything thereby spoiling the fun of the moment.
